Breast Augmentation also referred to as Bilateral Augmentation Mammoplasty (BAM) or Breast Implants, is a cosmetic surgery that involves using silicone implants to enhance the shape and volume of the breasts.
In this article, we will explore some of the factors that can affect the pricing of a Breast Augmentation in Australia. If you would like more information about Breast Augmentations or any of the other procedures that Dr Dona performs, please call us 1300 373 662 or request a consultation using the contact form on our website.
The initial consultation is relatively minor compared to the overall cost of your surgery. Breast Augmentation surgery is a highly personalised procedure that does involve choosing which implants will work with your anatomy to achieve your preferred aesthetic outcome.
Your initial consultation with Dr Eddy Dona will involve:
After your consultation, one of our registered nurses will be happy to further discuss the costs with you.
There are numerous variables and things that need to be considered and discussed during your consultation to establish your surgical plan, including the right implant, to achieve your aesthetic outcome. This is why the initial consultation and discussion about your preferred aesthetic outcome is so important. We also have an extensive educational video library covering all aspects of breast enhancement surgery on our Breast Augmentation page if you would like to learn more.
Like all cosmetic surgical procedures, Breast Augmentation is performed in Private Hospitals which contribute a significant portion of your overall fee. Part of your total fee paid to Bella Plastic Surgery is to cover the operating theatre costs and your hospital care.
The anaesthetic required for a Breast Augmentation procedure is always provided by a specialist anaesthetic doctor. The Anaesthetist administers your anaesthetic, monitors your wellbeing throughout the procedure, and manages your post-operative analgesia (medication requirements). Part of your total fee paid to Bella Plastic Surgery is to pay for this specialist care.
Medicare does not cover cosmetic elective surgical procedures. Breast augmentation is primarily a cosmetic procedure, but in some rare cases it may be deemed to be medically necessary, and in such cases, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate. For example, if you suffer from a congenital anomaly of your breasts, such as tuberous breasts, you may be eligible for a rebate.
We are unable to offer any finance options to our patients. However, there are a number of medical finance companies that can be found through research online if you are seeking payment options for your breast augmentation surgery. These companies specialise in medical procedure financing, and you would need to contact them directly for more information.
Breast Augmentation surgery is a highly individualised procedure, with many different implant options to achieve your desired aesthetic outcome.
